SYE first?
I found a really good deal on a SYE, could I install the slip yoke eliminator now, or do I need the dimensions from the drive line after it is lifted?

i didnt need any dimensions when mine was installed. if you found a good deal id grab it now. you only need dimensions if your gonna put an aftermarket driveshaft in the rear right away. if you have an auto matic xj you can just use a stock front xj driveshaft till you can afford an aftermarket driveshaft. also if you angles are bad after installing the sye you can always just shim the rear.

There was a topic about this I had questions about a few weeks ago from what I found it when you get a front da out of a Cherokee that was awd then it will work with the sye but needs to be from an awd one. And it will work with a 4.5" lift but my question that never got answered was will it work with a 3" and also a 4.5" lift with the same ds or will it be to short when going to that 4.5" lift

yes it will work with the 4.5" lift and 3" lift all its doing is changing the output yoke from a slip yoke to solid yoke, and a normal xj front drive shaft will work thats what i have on my rig and it works perfectly i would also still recommend putting in a drop kit for your transfer case

Is this method a good solid permanent fix or is it a good temp fix till a CV shaft is installed? What advantage does a CV shaft have over this front shaft conversion?
