Exclamation SYE for 2wd 96' cherokee

I'm wondering if someone could point out if there is a SYE kit for a 2wd cherokee. I'm leaking fluid and have small vibration from 25-30 mph only when accelerating. I've got 3.5 inch RE lift kit and 32/11.50's. Any other advice is appreciated. Thanks

check motor and trans mounts, and if they're good use shims under the leaf packs....everyone is always so quick to jump on the SYE bandwagon with such small lifts

Using shims will tilt my axle up causing the drive shaft to come closer to the trans correct? I've read about a trans drop being a band aid. Is this true for daily driven 2wd jeeps?

it's not about how tall your lift is. the stock tail housing is weak and prone to leaking. you also get a massive benefit of being able to juggle the same driveshaft front and rear if you ever break. its not just about preventing vibes

yes and yes. but you own a 2wd xj. it's shims and a tcase drop or start thinking about a 4x4 conversion

Ok. How does a 3/4" drop and 1.5 degree shim sound? Enough?

the added angle could've just killed an old seal, could probably replace the seal and use either or, just depends on your angles.

for the shims, you want the front universal joint angled the same as the rear, you can use a piece of wire to bend to the angle of the front joint and use the wire as a guide on how far the rear u joint is out of angle and the difference would roughly be the shim degree you would need to rotate the pinion to a better angle....you could probably get away with just shims if its not too far off..just check with wire or an angle finder

The reason for the leak and vibration is the bushing in the trans tail housing is worn out. A new bushing and seal will fix it.
