Ok...on my package it says 86 is neg and 85 is switch....I hooked it up both ways and nothing happens ...I take the power from the battery and touch it to 85 and it clicks....if I put just the lights direct to the battery with no relay they come on...when its all hooked up I flip the switch and nothing happens....now what

85 & 86 can be interchangeable, and they are for the SWITCH (NOT for power distribution). Your battery should be connected (fused) to 30, and the 87 should continue the power to your lights (which then need to be independently grounded). Review the posted diagram (which is for 1 circuit only).

It appears to me that you need to do a little Googling about "automotive relays" to get a better understanding of what they do & how...

I did and I did...got them up and running...

I put them were the rear wiper button would...I don't have a rear wiper soooooo this is what it looks like....
