Hello everyone this is my first time posting, so if I'm not to helpful on asking this I'm sorry. But me and pop did a lift on my 98 Cherokee sport. The lift is only 2" and after we were done I notice that the rear sway bar was cutting into the rear tires. Unfortunately I noticed this as the truck started smoking down the road, it pays to double check trust me.
But my question is why is it rubbing when I bought the kit off of Rubicon Express and it started no where that I would need to worry about that. So what should I do? I want to just heat the sway and crunch it down a bit. If there's a better way though I would greatly appreciate it.

I've never seen one with the rear sway bar on, I'm not sure where it mounts up. You could just take it off. Would longer links put it back in the proper location?
See what happen was the sway bar link sits right on the U-bolt plate on the leaf spring. It normally sits closer to the inside of the rim, when I put the lift on it sat just above the rim on the tire that's why it cut in. I think the extended link wouldn't help much I have 31's on so I think it might still rub, but I'll look into it. Do people normally just remove it? What's the draw back of it if any?

There will be a little more body sway on turns. I don't have any sway bars on mine that I drive everyday because I wheel it on the weekends. You can remove the rear one and will probably notice very little change. It will be a little more noticeable if you remove the front. You will have to slow down a little more when going into corners.

Take out the rear one, unless you absolutely need the extra stability. (Ie. 16 year old kid driving it etc) Definitely keep the front one though.
Ok that doesn't sound too bad, I do use it as a daily driver and normally drive around speeds of 40-60mph, 70 max. I'll be keeping the front ones on so I should good. Thanks for the help
Take it off the rear is useless.the front you can take off also nut some feel safer with the front attached.i took both off on mine
The only worry I have is if something will break due to the bar not being there. I should also mention this is my first truck lift and off road-ish rig. I don't know much at all.

Nothing will break. Just remove the bar and the links. If you don't like the way it drives, you can put it back on after you figure out the tire issue.

Blocks can be hard on leaf springs and can break. If you are just doing it for looks it will likely be fine. And it is only a 2" block. People usually have problems when they use something bigger. If you are wheeling it, an extended shackle or add-a-leaf is the better bet.
