Swapping 231 for 242 from 98 to a 93

Swapping 231 for 242 from 98 to a 93
I have a 93 Cherokee with a N231 transfer case and I'm about to buy a 98 jeep for cheap that has a 6 inch lift and stronger diffs and a N242 with sye. I was wonder if I could swap that the N242 into my 93. My 93 is Manuel and the 98 is automatic is that a problem? And is there any gear issues that could come up? And some side questions is it worth it buying a jeep that has a 6 inch lift but isn't a long arm kit? And can the front diff in a 98 be swapped over easy like did any steering change or things line up different? Thank you
