Hello. I’m new to the XJ world so bear with me. I’ve tried searching through some pages on this topic but came up short. I have a 94 that I’m trying to build up and everything I’ve read and received input on about the Dana 35 is to get rid of it if I can. Today I found a 99 XJ at a salvage yard in great condition and found it has the Chrysler 8.25 axle. I would prefer the Dana 44 but haven’t been able to find any locally yet. So my question is. If I were to get the 8.25 axle, what all do I need to take from the donor jeep. I would be taking the whole axle drum to drum. Do I need to grab the driveshaft also. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.
