Surco roof basket
Hello, I was wondering if a roof basket with a highlift jack, and a shovel and axe mount, also a tire will effect gas mileage. I知 pretty sure it will but I知 not sure by how much. I知 sorry in advance for adding a new thread I知 not really finding the answer I知 looking for anywhere else

On top of the MPG drop, general consensus is the higher center of gravity makes them a bit more tippy on the street. If it's a DD, no need to cause yourself more trouble than needed. The hi-lift jack easily fits under the back seat with minor hammer work. The spare fits on a spare tire carrier attached to an aftermarket rear bumper, or in the cargo area if you don't want to drop that coin (I have a 33x12.5 in my cargo area). When you need the shovel and ax (actual wheeling trip, not DDing), throw them in the cargo area.
