ok im bout to buy my first winch and i have it down to 2....tha superwinch LP8500 with 235:1 gear ratio with 4.5 HP or a milemarker SEC8000 with 152:1 gear ratio with 4.8 HP....whats yalls input on these....thanks

personally i would get super winch, mile marker is what the military uses, but i like superwinch a little better

That milemarker is slow and made pretty cheap. Superwinch is a decent winch for the price and speed is decent. I ride with people running both and the ones with the milemarker wouldn't buy another one. If you get it loosten the bolts on the gear side otherwise it will never freespool and plan on replacing the brake about every 20 pulls.

 

I have the LP10000 and really like it. Have had it for about 2 years and hasn't let me down yet.

 

One word...warn. if you are going to spend the money dont you want something that will last FOREVER
