Well after purchasing this winch a year ago and using it four times this is how it looks after yesterday:






The winch physically broke, smashed my grill, ac condenser and cracked my header panel. I wasn't being rough on the winch or using it in anyway that it wasn't designed for. I was using another vehicle as an anchor point trying to pull my self out of a snow drifted area.

I have contacted the company I bought it from as well as Superwinch, hopefully one of them is willing to rectify the problem, thought I don't have my hopes up on that happening.

So to you Superwinch owners, be careful using your Superwinch. Luckily enough nobody was close by when this happened because pieces of metal and plastic flew about 10 yards each way.

 

Good luck getting a replacement. Kinda scary when stuff like that happens.

 

Yep, it sucked. This happened shortly after my buddies Jeep caught fire from a popped power steering hose. We were trying to make our way out and this happened, sure put a damper on a fun day. Feels kinda like someone shot my dog or something.

 

That is crazy....

 

Damn, never seen that one before... I would also contact SuperWinch directly. I know that Warns real good about fix issues like that, lets hope Super is the same.

Glad no one got injured when it grenaded.

 

I sent Superwinch's Customer Service manager an email with pictures this morning so waiting to hear back from him.
