Fresh rebuild, (2,000 miles on rebuild), Bored .030 over (only internal non stock work done on rebuild), K & N CAI, 917 injectors, MSD coil, Better wires, plugs gapped to .050, 62mm TB, APN header, 2.5 exhaust all the way back, Dynomax Super Turbo muffler, Performance Curve Cat.

Tuned by Ryan Hogan.

It is a 99 so it has the better intake. 96 block with 0630 head.

I wish I would of had my mechanic cam it while he was building it.

Gain was around 25-30 hp to the wheels.

It is a lot of fun to drive. Has nice get up for a 4.0.

Watch the light under the hood when the rpm's get up, lol.

Some trends that I have noticed-
Stock 4.0L- 135rwhp/160-165rwtq (crank 190HP/225TQ)
4.0L+'All the bolt on's' +15rwhp/+15rwtq to 150rwhp/175rwtq (crank 210HP/240TQ)
4.6L Stroker- displacement+CR(+15%)+cam(+8%)+head work(+7%)--195rwhp/245rwtq (crank 260HP/ 328TQ)
5.0L Stroker- (+10% over 4.6L) 208rwhp/280rwtq
4.0L+BOOST 6pounds- 210rwhp/265-275rwtq (crank 300HP/375TQ)
Stroker4.6L+?BOOST 4pounds +25%--->244rwhp/306rwtq(estimate) 325HP/410TQ(crank estimate)
Stroker4.6L+?BOOST 6pounds +37%--->267rwhp/335rwtq(estimate) 355HP/450TQ(crank estimate)

Now that you have tried all the usual bolt-ons, which will only add about 15rwhp and 15rwtq, the next that you will feel a big difference is to get a set of 1.7:1 Harland Sharp roller rockers. They will work with the stock cam and valve springs. They will add 0.025" lift and 2-3* duration. This will allow the engine to rev to 4600-4700 rpm instead of going flat at 3800-4000 rpm. Way easier than changing the cam.

Above dyno video- Flyin Ryan tune seems like added about 10rwhp on top of the usual bolt on's.

Any idea what the roller rockers will add?

I'm interested too, and is it a gain throughout the entire range?

Probably 10hp across the whole range but more importantly raise the rpm range and engine pull all the way to 4600-4700 rpm.

Does your engine feel like it falls flat and about 3800-4000rpm?

not really, if I'm pushing/testing I shift at 4500 on general principal but it doesn't seem to lose any go from 4k to 4500.
I've got good power from 1500 to 2500 as long as it's not on the floor, at 3 is when it takes off.
