Default Suggestions for better mileage on a carb'd 4 cyl?

I know there's tons of write ups on increasing gas mileage, but they're always for fuel injected models. So what about us oddballs with the older 2.5 pre-fuel injection engines? I have an 85 2.5L 5 speed on 30x9.5 tires 3 inch lift, and the 11 MPG's are getting expensive. Any suggestions?

Same as injected.
Except rebuild carb.

Look up how to tune a carb with a vacuum gauge. And if you want to see what shape your engine is in a compression test can tell you.

Make sure there are o vacuum leaks and that teh carb hasn't come loose from it's base.

11 MPGs sounds like your odometer is inaccurate or you're calculating it wrong.

How old are the plugs, wires, cap and rotor?

Ever set the timing?

I've done all the basic tune up stuff. New plugs, wires, timing, fluids, intake/exhaust gasket, new clutch, vacuum lines. And my calculations were pretty exact, I based them off GPS mileage since I don't trust my odometer. I was also told the carb was recently replaced and tuned when I bought it. But I agree, 11 MPG seems pretty low
