Im constantly amazed at the amount of money people will throw at car audio systems to rattle the windows. A lot of my system is recycled but ill put dollar values on them none the less
Headunit Pioneer 3600 $150.00 actual cost $0
2 x 50 watt NOS Optimus (Radio Shack) Amps $100.00 actual cost $0
1 x 100 watt NOS Optimus (Radio Shack) Amp $200.00 actual cost $25.00
Factory Tweeters in the dash driven by head unit
4 x PolyPrope Mid Woofers in the 4 doors Max Wattage 80
2 x additional no name brand paper 1.5 inch tweeters in the dash
1 x 8 inch dual voice coil sub mounted in the cubby in the rear
So for the sake of argument Im running 10 speakers with a little over 200 watts of power. For my 200 watts I have a system that will rattle all of the doors in the truck and make the mirrors un-usable. The key to my set up is driving the speakers to their peak efficiency. The Dual Voice Coil Sub is rated at 130 watts, Im driving it with 100 watts. The damn thing moves when pushed.
Trying to move a 500 watt woofer with a 100 watt amp will not work. I have never cared what the next guy runs, I run what I like and match the components. My Mickey Mouse amplifiers are circa 1985, I push them hard and they run warm on a regular basis. If they die tomorrow I will have used them for 25 bloody years! How many of you have run your amps for 25 years?
I dont build competition system, I do build systems that rock my world. AND I build them dirt cheap!

You mean think about taking down my wattage?. Or look into a different set up... And the sub amp combo I posted came with 2 subs amp box and wire kit for 230....i want a system that I can feel up frontr. But won't tear up ppls ears standing a block away. But in that same price range...and I'm not sure what my head unit is. It came with the jeep and looks like a cheaper pioneer head. I know its has a built in amp. Or sumten. But only has 1 RCA send outs.
Good, clean power costs money. For $100 for example you can get a decent quality amp but it will only put out ~300wrm. Or for $100 you can buy a **** quality 1000wrms amp that may or may not put out 1000wrms and may or may not **** the bed in 2 months and sound like ****.

Ouch... This is true....lol I might drop this sub I idea and just go for an exhaust system at least I know everything about that...but with subs and amps. That's a lot of wires and tech..idk kinda overwhelmed by all the subs and amps
300wrms will pound my ears off out of a single sub in a sealed box I made. I turned it down. :P
I have an infinity reference 1242, it's 300wrms. I have a 5 channel amp that I am driving my speakers with, and the fifth channel is the 300wrms sub channel.
You can look into mb quart. they have a monoblock for about $100. And it would match with an infinity reference sub which are about $60 each and then build your own sealed box. Wiring is like $50.
check out onlinecarstereo.com, or woofersetc.com. These are where I get my stuff.
Look at brands like mb quart, infinity, clarion, alpine, mtx (amps).
If you want to post the setup you find, I can help you because they need to "match". For example if you have a 300wrms rated sub, you want to power it with 300wrms or a little more (especially in a sealed box). The impedance on the output of the amp has to match the impedance of the sub.

I think you did your math wrong. over 7 cubic feet of air space would take up the entire cargo area. (think, 2'x3'x1' would be 6 cubic feet)
Judging from the picture, I'd guess that it was around 1.5 to 2 cubic feet per side, plus port displacement. If you plug that up it should work OK with most subwoofers in your price range, as the cheaper subs usually require a little more airspace.
The MB quart stuff at sonic is reasonably priced, and you could get a pretty decent set up in your price range.
For wiring I'd just go to knuconceptz.com and get their cheap 4awg KLM kit. It will be more than enough to run the subwoofer amplifiers you are looking at and the wire is much larger than you will get in a comparable kit elsewhere.
Jronald: while I agree you don't have to buy name brands to make it sound good, you also have to know what you are doing if you want to pick components. That's the way I build my systems, but I know what I'm talking about. This guy stated he has no clue, so taking that route is a recipe for disaster.
