ok I'm good with most stuff like this like wiring radios and door speakers things like that but I've never done a sub before. i got a 12 inch kicker sub and i still need my box and amp any suggestions would be appreciated but I'm on a tight budget. and then if anyone could explain how to wire one or post a link that would be great i can't find one anywhere

Be careful, you can waste your $ if not done right! read up and make sure you are 100% sure you can handle it.
Sub model will determine what size amp you need and if you need a dual or single voice coil setup.
I buy from here, pretty cheap and great service.spent more then I wanted to but sound sounds good lol.

need a wiring kit? you should need what is in this kit, you can get it from them or anywhere you like all lengths and sizes are there...

amp I bought..

you want the RMS to match RMS, not peaks.
as far as wiring..

Personally I hate sonicelectronix.. They sent me a blown JL sub and refused to give me any customer support at all. I would go to best buy first. The writing diagrams you have are accurate though.. And I wouldn't recommend kenwood amps.. Could just be my car audio enthusiast inside speaking.. If go with kicker if you can afford it.. Or fosgate or alpine. Just my $0.02

Not a bad choice, I like to go through manufacturers first whenever possible though

What Kicker do you have? I have a 12" L7 and I use a Pioneer 1800W mono amp. It hits hard as hell. But doesn't drown out the music (unless you want it to )

Also for wiring the larger the gauge the better usually especially if you amp is in r location in your Jeep. I'd suggest 8 Gauge wires.

If that's not what you were asking about, just enjoy the random info.

I would if I was going cheap and didn't know how to do anything. But imo they're still overpriced and the install bay doesn't know what they're doing half the time. I usually use a place around here that does professional installs or do it all myself with equipment ordered online.

the wire gauge you use should match what the amp can take. I would use 6awg at the very smallest for a sub install, but that's just me. I like to use 4 gauge when possible

Deff use 4 gauge thats wat ive always used on my systems. As for an amp I recommend anything made by soundstorm. People will say they are junk because theyve never heard of them and they are on ebay. Totally not true Ive used a soundstorm amp for 5 years, different amps for different subs of course but not one of them have ever failed on me and believe me I put my systems thru some hard stuff. They are good reliable cheap amps that really pound a sub.
