Okay, I'm in a smart*** mood, so I made a funny with the thread title.
Anyway, I decided to bite the bullet and install it tonight. The instructions that came with it were terrible, so I'd like to thank anyone that has ever posted anything about how they installed theirs.
I wouldn't say it went in easily, but that is largely because there are a couple of important points regarding alignment and such that weren't covered clearly. One of the most difficult parts for me was not, like many people, getting the C-Clips back in, but getting the center driver spacers to seat all the way so I could get the cross pin back in. I had to stick a big screwdriver in the cross pin hole and work it around and pry a lot before they would seat properly and get out of the way.
But it did finally go in, and I filled it up with Royal Purple 75-140 synthetic, and took it for a drive around the neighborhood. Yes, it definitely makes some noise while coasting on turns and parking. I've heard that this will quiet down somewhat after a few weeks. I hope so because it's pretty loud now; enough to startle nearby cars and pedestrians when they hear it.
I don't know when I'll have a chance to test it out off road, though. I mainly put it in now because I am in the midst of a typical Texas winter. It's the last day of November, we hit 81 degrees today, and I've got the AC on in my house to get it cool enough for me to sleep well tonight. However, a week from now we could be in the 20's with ice and sleet all over the roads, and back to 75 two days after that. So, I thought it was time to get that bugger installed before any of that hits.
I know many of you will say I should have put a locker in the front. But I know where I typically get stuck, and it's on flat but muddy family land, and I usually have weight in the back. I made a judgement call and voted for the back axle.
I'll report back on behavior in the next few weeks.
Tomorrow, the overhead console I scored at the JY goes in...
By the way, this video was very helpful, so if anyone needs to reference it when installing theirs...

You will love it when you get it offroad. I have Spartans on both axles(30 & 8.25") and it made a world of difference. We run on the rocks and some mud and I rarely spin a tire now, even running level 3 & 4 trails at SMORR and Superlift.

It will get quieter, some. Their pretty damn loud new. Instructions are aweful. Thankfully there's enough on the internet about them. It's actually super simple to install, they just don't tell how to really. And your better off with that lunchbox in the rear, far stronger carrier and better for ice/snowy driving. I recommen a locker that replaces the carrier in the front.
