Strange steering.
I have in the last year replaced ball joints, wheel bearings, TRE's, Wheel joints and have discovered a problem. When driving around a corner the steering wheel saws like I have four wheel engaged. It does this even when the front DS is removed. Any idea's? I have begun getting the u joints together to do the front DS.

possibly but I am thinking that isn't it. When I did the TRE's I had my local shop rotate my tires and but it on their alignment rack and it was in spec. I will make another appointment with them or another shop to have that checked.

I did tonight. I pulled them both out and even checked the wheel bearings. A side from some slight binding that some light wacks with a hammer on the sides of the ears there wasn't anything. It's gotten a little better over the last couple of days but it's still there. I have no idea what it's actual from.

I'd check everything from the steering wheel right on down the line... check the joints in the steering shaft. Check the steering box bolts, the cheap OEM spacer (sometimes they can rot out), check for any excess play in the steering box itself (there's a how-to on here-I THINK- detailing how to adjust it with a set screw on the top of the box). Check all the linkages from the pitman arm all the way down to the TRE's again. Maybe pull the track bar and have a look at the hole in the end itself to see if it's oblonged at all, AND in the axle bracket for the same thing.
Also look at your tires...check for unusual wear, shifted belts. If you can, take the tires off and run them to a tire shop and ask them to spin them on the balancer to see if the rims are bent.
Take a picture of your steering linkages and post them up,that way the vet's can get a look to see if there's any issues with the angles of your links...

So here is an update. Had my tires balanced and rotated along with an alignment done. Everything in the front end is in good shape. I was quite surpassed at this and they even allowed me to do some looking myself and nothing was loose or had to much play. Still have the strange steering. I also replaced my steering box spacer when I put the bumpers on. The new one is a steel one from JCR.

You know the feeling of when turning your jeep on dry pavement while in 4x4? That is what I am talking about. However I am getting this while in 2wd and the front drive shaft removed. Making it so that the transfer case is not sending power to the front end when its not supposed to.

So I pulled apart the front end. Was messing with the mechanical limited slip and noticed that it binds up a little. I also noticed that it would do it while I was turning. I plan on pulling it out and tearing it down further when I have the time to see if it is actually the cause.
