Sorry bud, but don't just look at the fill plug I've got a D35 with the same type of fill plug as on the 8.25.. rather look at the overall shape of the diff housing

Axle shafts are aftermarket too.
Everything was installed in 2010, but I have to deal with axle shafts free play (up/down)
Are bearings the same? Looks like I need bearings.

not a normal LSD. You do not need a friction modifier in a Detroit TrueTrac

Just FYI - they recommend mineral gear oil on their website, not synthetic

Locker. That would explain the difference. I've never dealt with a True Trac.

Seems to be somewhat contradictory for themselves. I think I've seen the reference to not using synthetic too, however the manual says "The TrueTrac differential is designed to operate in those lubricants recommended by the vehicle/axle manufacturer for conventional differentials." And for towing applications Chrysler recommends synthetic gear lube.

Not doubting that it's there. Just commenting that they have contradicting info. I used synthetic lube per the manual since I tow trailers.

To me that is the ultimate rear diff if not selectable. To bad they are so expensive. Over 6 bills last time I looked. Great manners on the road,in snow and very good on the trail.
