Default Strange looking differential. Please look at picture.

Previous owner spent a lot of money upgrading this Jeep.
I wanted to pull axle shafts to check bearings and found differential, I never dealt with.
I will do research if I know what it is.
Thanks.

Edit: I didnt notice the fill plug, yea 8.25... now just count your splines and see if its 27 or 29.
If your jeep is an 01 like in your sig it should be the 29 spline.

guys please don't post an answer unless you're absolutely sure it's correct...too much mis-information sometimes here...

That's a Chrysler 8.25 with what looks like a limited slip differential in it. I'll check to see if I can figure out which one

8.25 LSD

A bit easier to see the difference.

The OP was asking about the differential, though guys, not the axle. It looks A LOT like the Detroit TrueTrac I put in my axle.

Thanks!!!!!
How to remove axles?
Should I use slide hammer or remove center pin from differential?
I turned one axle and another one turned in opposite direction, so I guess it is not LSD?
I just found receipt for $2300, seller said it was changed to 4.10 ratio.

Shouldn't need a slide hammer, just take the snap ring out and if you can't get the plug out with a magnet just use a bolt. It's not pressed in. That allows you to remove the spacer from between the shafts to allow removal of the c-clips.
