Default Stock xj Bigger Tires

I have a stock 2000 xj and I want a wider profile with bigger tires but I don’t want to lift it. It’s my daily driver and i do some off-road. What size tires and wheels should I use? Does anyone have pic or run this set up?

Biggest you can likely get away with will be 30x9.5x15 ,and these will be tight . Back spacing on your factory wheels may be an issue though as the wider tires will need to be pushed out further so they do not contact the LCA in a tight turn.

My pics don't show the tire size all that well but it might give you an idea on the look, but I have 235/75-15 and I wouldn't go any bigger.

The weezy old 4.0 only had 190 hp when new, probably a lot less now 18 years later. Why just add more un-sprung weight and screw everything up?
A better move would be to replace the saggy old worn out rear springs (and shocks all the way around while you're there) to get the stance back.

not only unsprung weight but more rotational mass. As well as the effect that larger diameter tires has on gear ratio. That being said I have 235-75-15 on my 98 with 164,000 and it doesn’t feel any different than the 01 with 225-75-15 and 220,000. Probably 29 or 30’s would be fine as well. Also no tire rubbing on mine and I’m running grand Cherokee ZJ wheels.
