Stiffen UCA mount on D30?
I'm building a D30 for the front of my 90. Pulled one out of a 98 to delete the CAD and upgrade to the larger u-joints at the same time. I am going to a 4.10 gear to match the 33s. Plan to truss the axle to stiffen it a bit and to reinforce the passenger side UCA. Also plan to put a piece of 1/8" across the back of the mount (the open side) to further stiffen it.
I have searched the forum and found several posts saying to reinforce the pass UCA, but no real guidance on how to. Is that enough stiffening? Any good threads?
My plan for the jeep is mostly DD with family trips on mild forest trails (national parks) and beach use.

buy the artec truss. the way you have to cut the pass side uca mount results in having almost no leverage on the mount.

A thought just popped into my head. Anyone move the shock mounts up on their D30? I have a D35 laying in the back yard, about to load it up and carry it in for scrap. Thinking about cutting the shock mounts off the D35 and welding them to the D30. I moved the shock mounts up on my 8.8, why not move them up on the D30? Would also delete the bar pins. Thoughts?
A walk out to the garage answered that question. I'll see about getting some shock mount tabs and welding them on the axle. Will move the mount up and delete the bar pin at the same time.
