The ford 10.25 or 10.5out of any pickup late 80's early 90's will bolt right in the spring perches are in the same location. the mount face to mounting face on the one that I have is 65" that is 5" widderthan the stock xj axle but is very easy to shorten to 63". you cut a section out of the drivers side tube and but weld them back together, after you shorten you can use the passenger side axle for both sides. The for sterling also came in the late 90's f150 with a 5 1/2 bolt pattern

Im not sure weather its full float or not Ill have to call the guy, and on ebay theres 5.38 gears for the sterling 10.25. What ratio would be good for 37" tires.

I see now, sorry for the confusion.

But yes, I am a big fan of the 10.25. I've seen a number of people eun them and I've never seen one break. I know a guy who runs one on a bronco with 46 inch tires with stock shafts, and he says he's never broken one, whereas he's broken 14b shafts on the same setup. A 14b has the better pinion support, with the extra bearing. But imho, I think the 10.25 is better in every way minus the pinion deal.

... both great axles though

I am on a very low budget being 17 years old so is it possible or how hard would it be to remove the old spring perches and be able to reuse them? And what would be the best way to go about this?

when I removed mine they where gone. depending on how you remove them i guess you could... but they probably wont sit straight or level. and the cut for the tube wont be the correct diameter. i got mine from ballistic fab. there only 30$. but others make them too...

It would probably be best int he long run to get a full kit with plates and u-bolts... maybe not this one $$ but somthing like this...
