Default Steering upgrade. which one.

What is the better steering upgrade between the rustysoffroad tierod conversion kit. Or jcroffroad 1 ton steering upgrade? Or what other kit would you guys recommend.

Yesterday I found out I have the right side tie rod end going out. And I just got a better job so now I can afford things a little bit easier so I figured I should just upgrade.

Anyways I have always been a big fan of rustys but idk if the tie rod conversion kit even does very much with the steering of the jeep? Or if it's just stronger. But ive heard good stuff about the one ton steering over at jcr so what do y'all recommend?

i have the ORO U-turn steering set-up version 3, and i love it. it improved my steering so much on road, got rid of all my pops and creeks, and made turning my 35" tires easy as pie when wheeling my baby. now if you go with this set-up i would suggest a non ball joint track bar with drop bracket. here is a quick pic of it:

for more pics and install instructions, go to my build thread here:

and go to the last 2 posts on the page. let me know if you have any questions.

Tran am around how much was that kit? It looks pretty beefy.

Also It looks like the serious off road kit is exactly like what rustysoffroad has. I dont wanna spend serious money on it. But that seems like a pretty good set up too. For about the same price. Did the serious offroad kit come with everything you need to install it? Or did you have to buy extra stuff?

I thought that Franks Serious Steering kit used TRE's. Why does your serious steering kit have heims?

my kit is kinda pricy but i love it to death and it is strong as a tank. i wanted to do it one time, and never again. also you get the benifit of a slight steering ratio bump from the way the kit is set-up, meaning you get more responsive steering!. the kit i have i got on sale for $500, but when it is not on sale, it is just around $600

dont get me wrong, FrankZ (serious offroad products) makes an awesome kit, i just wanted the bracket design with the better turning geometry.

I ordered mine before he had the serious steering on his site and i told him i wanted heims instead of TRE's and he said no problem lol. No it comes with everything you need except i had to buy the bolts for the heims. And franks was a great guy to work with i told him i needed it in a hurry and i had it fast!

are you guys still getting a full turning radius out of those kits? I had onlyinmyxj22's old under the knuckle jcr setup and had to wind out the steering stops to keep the tie rod from hitting the cover and my trac bar bracket on the axle. Loved how it handled tho

I never had a problem with it, but getting the OTK setup should also fix that.
