Question Steering Solutions!

hey guys looking for a few answers and opinions on steering options. My junk is wore out and its time to upgrade. So far these are the three options im looking at
http://www.seriousoffroadproducts.co...serts-Included
http://www.currieenterprises.com/ces...9.aspx?id=1219

http://www.jcroffroad.com/product/STR/1TNST.html
I really like the JCR option and really want one ton steering. I guess my main question is how hard is it to ream/drill out the knuckles and pitman arm? Should I just go with the currie kit where none is required on the install?
Have any of you had good/bad experiences with heim steering on the highway?

....one last question....JCR offers the over the knuckle option for the same price...what other work is required with this besides the drilling/reaming?
lemme know what you think...thanks!

I think the Currie is way expensive for what it is, which is basically the OEM setup except beefed up. You wouldn't need additional mods for that one.

For over-the-knuckle, you'll need to relocate your track bar to the top of your axle. Welding required!

I'd stay away from the Currie setup. Toe changes when the suspension cycles and can cause death wobble issues with wider, heavier tires from my experience. You'll also have to move your swaybar links if you want to keep the swaybar with OTK setups. Not really a big deal. The whole "it requires welding" thing is nothing to fear. It's an opportunity to throw a truss on it and beef up the control arm mounts, tube sleeves, maybe gusset the Cs too.

The currie system is expensive, but nice. Be sure and get the heat treated links if you go that route.

Serious OTK, JCR got pricy...

Relocate the track bar over the axle and cut off your sway bar mounts and maybe a little trimming to the coil buckets.

Does not. It says tapered inserts are included. Just drilling is required.

The link I provided is for Product Reviews from a few folks that were kind enough to share their experiences on my site, you can find plenty more on this forum as well.

For those in Colorado, I offer a Knuckle and Pitman arm Exchange. Hit me up via PM for more info.

I have the Serious Offroad 1 ton UTK steering. You need to drill the knuckles, but tapered sleeves are provided in the kit that you tap in with a hammer. It's a solid kit that I would definitely recommend.

I am only going to running 235's on my rig and will only be wheeling mildly because this is my daily driver, will I benefit from spending the money on upgrading the steering system or could I get away with just replacing all with OEM parts?

Might as well upgrade. The Serious kit is really nice (I've seen two and they both blew mine out of the water). JCR is nice as well. If the cost is a huge factor, you can always do the ZJ tie rod upgrade. No where near as nice as either of the 1 ton kits, but it's a little stronger than the OEM setup.
