Default Steering Pop

If I have a 4.5 inch lift and 32inch BFG ATs on my XJ. Do I have to get an after market "bigger" steering stabilzer. I just replaced the suspension with the same size after market shocks. I also replaced the steering stabilzer. But I bought one for a stock XJ. Would this cause the pop when I turn harder than normal?

no, search track bar. steering stabilizer doesn't do any of that

Definitely look at your track bar. Try tightening the castle nut holding it to the mount and the 4 bolts holding the mount to the frame.

At 4.5" of lift, what kind of track bar do you have?

My popping was trac bar.

Should be real easy to figure out tho. Have someone turn the wheel back and forth while you examine...

Turns out my Trackbar is loose. And extremely rusted. So I am going to get derusting stuff. If that doesn't work I'll just saw it off and buy a new one.

Anyone recommend a trackbar for a 4.5inch lift with 32s?

At 4.5" of lift you should definitely have an adjustable track bar. Id look at BDS, IRO double shear, or ironman fab. Track bar is absolutely something that is vital to ensure the front axle is properly centered underneath the jeep. Dont try to get out cheap.

Iron Rock Offroad, Rockkrawler, Rubicon Express, Ironman 4x4 all have awesome double sheer track bars. Don't even think about say "What about Rough Country?" or "What about Rusty's?"

Get quality the first time!

I have been running a track bar setup from tnt customs (treks) that I have been really happy with. After a few years of abuse I noticed one side developed a little play in it. I took it off the other day, tightened up the joint... just like new again.

Thanks guys, was able to tighten it back up after soaking it in WD40 for a couple days. But I will look into a new track bar soon! Thanks for the suggestions!
