Steering gear box is the first thing to come to mind. Most have an adjustment screw on top but locate a video on how to adjust.

the previous owner installed the 3" RC lift, he did not replace the sway bar end links with the ones for a raised vehicle. I was just looking under the front end and they at a hard angle. Could this be an issue in general?

Any looseness will be exaggerated because your castor angle has changed and is probably not the 5° it is supposed to be. The castor angle makes the steering center itself. Now it can wander

thank you, I apologize for my ignorance but is your response based on the incorrect sway bar end links? He also stated he had not had it aligned since the lift was installed.

most aftermarket sway bar end links are designed for 0-3 inch lifts till you get up over 4 inches, then adjustable ones like JKS work great.
i would just remove the bottom nut, and spin the sway bar end link around so the curve faces in. this should help with the alignment of the end link. they look in good shape, and like most being from 0-3 inch lifts, yours should be fine.
as for your wandering, check all tie rod ends, track bar ends/bushings, control arm bushings, wheel bearing units, steering box and frame around steering box (for cracks). even bad tires (crowning) can make your jeep wander.

Flip them around and see what it looks like. Make sure the metal sleeve is inside the bushing where it slips over the bolt. If the sway bar isnt putting alot of stress on them they should be fine.
Sometimes stock links wont work with a 3 inch lift. Mine wouldnt fit right but the previous owner forced them on sowere bent badly I had to fix them.

I also just notices that it has the sway bar extension brackets that came in the RC 3" kit.
