So, ive been getting a good clunk and some other scary noises fro my steering shaft lately and it is due to the damn rag joints in the shaft itself.... i had done some research and came upon this picture...

I also know that the borgenson shafts use u-joints... i think this would be a nice fix and upgrade to my steering shaft....

has anyone done this or have any more info on it? i'd hate to dive into something like a chicken with my head cut off...

 

you have a rag joint shaft?

every xj i have ever seen had u joints on the steering shaft.

Possibly some previous owner shenanigans?

In short, just get a replacement steering shaft. lol

 

Yeah! I guess mines like the redheaded stepchild of the group or somethin... HahAhah new haft here I come!
