steering box braces 98xj
well my 98 xj is on 35-12.5r20 with uncut fenders. ive done the dodge durango steering box swap. i will be doing the 2002 steering setup for the cross over. but right now my steering box has came loose twice and also creeks sometimes. so from what i gather i will be needing to do some kind of bracing.
i will be mounting a winch bumper at the same time i address this issue.(still waiting for it see how far the bumper mount go)
but has anyone used these on a newer cherokee?

Had same issue with my 98 xj stock steering. Once i installed my rc front winch bumper probs were gone. The rc bumper bracket actually mounts using the gearbox mounting holes so it really reinforces that part of the unibody! A crossmember still wouldnt hurt. I found 2 hairline cracks in the unibody from the gearbox flexing it. That wuz where it wuz creaking and popping from. Happened b4 i put bumper on. I jus welded the cracks. Hard to see the cracks. One ran right under sway bar mount, had to unbolt swaybar mount to see it good!

I have the rugged ridge steering box brace, installed that at the same time as my JCR spacer and it seems to have made a world of difference.
That "inner brace" they are sending is likely the steering box spacer.
