I built a 4.8L stroker recently for my 2000 xj. It has been sitting for a while and i decided to start it up and just get the fluids up and everything moving again. I had been having starter issues recently and i knew it was on the fritz. All of my connections are good and clean. It is the original starter from my 2000 engine, which I had cracked the head in. Now I am running approx 10.5:1 compression and I think that just finally finished the old girl off.
Here is my question. Is it worth going with a high torque starter like a mean green in this application? I mean 300$ is pretty steep. Should I just get my old one rebuilt, just buy a new stock one? What is the common thought on this?
Anyone have a good place to purchase a mean green for a better price?

one from autozone or pepboys has the advantage of lifetime warranty , i would say it up to oneself to decide whether to spend or to go cheap. i would buy a regular one and call it a day
