Default Spectre Intake Installation Tips?

I ordered one today and am just wondering if anyone ran into any issues. It's a renix style intake. I know about the oil cap being dremeled, and needing a 3" hole saw, but is that about it?

I would use some sealant around the cowl to make it seal better than just 4 screws

Ok, sounds easy enough. Have you had any issues with it sucking water when it's raining?

I don't have this setup but I have seen other people that have it and they all have used some kind of sealant on the cowl.

Grind down the coupler that goes on the tb a lil. Keep you from putting a dent in your hood.

I put a Specter on my 99 a bit different BUT I'm getting this still applies:

Make sure the piece that mounts to the firewall is as low as possible. I did mine too high. It didn't let the hood close all the way so it clearanced itself.

Also, get a sanding drum or something to match the size/shape of the piece that mounts to the firewall. The 3" hole gets close but its not exact. Make the edges smooth and as said a little bit of gasket maker to seal it up nice.

If you haven't bought some spectre makes a cleaning and oiling kit for their filters. I got one at auto zone for $13. Its enough to last forever.

Its not to hard man. After drilling the 3" hole out, just be aware that sucker is HOT! I have no hood fitment issues and have not had it suck anything into it whatsoever. It is loud in cab but you get used to it (my exhaust is loud anyways). Its a pretty simple install!

I got it in there first thing this morning It was fairly easy, but clumsy. I LOVE the new sound! No noise cruising, F1 racer wide open
