Spectre Cowl Air Intake

Its not a problem. As long as people are willing to listen, there's always knowledge to gain.

And yea, the cowl can dispense of alot of water. Ne er really a chance of it clogging since the cowl has the covers. Even a hose pointed right at it doesn't even let any water fill up in there

No problems with mine in over a year. Snow, water, mud... No problems. I might try to go up to their larger sealed filter to get a little more air to the stroker.

Is there advantages to routing the intake to the cab versus the cowl or vise versa?

I have never seen an intake inside the cab.

Yea I guess I just read it wrong. Would it be practical to just drill through the firewall and hook up an intake to pull air from the cab though? I mean sure it'd be loud but, for an off-road buggy, it doesn't really matter.

Seen it on a 4runner once. PVC pipe out the fender, up the a-pillar and into the roof. Look ridiculously stupid.

on a Cherokee? if you take the dash out and you've got room for it I suppose.. you're talking about a really stripped down rig here. I don't see the point unless your engine cage takes up too much room and you just can't manage to fit a filter under the hood

works better on a purpose built desert truck. lots of dust out there. it's nice knowing that you're drawing clean air from the cab

Already gave it to a friend for theirs. Welded up a plate so it bolted to a Renix TB. Sorry.

For the '97+ cherokee the spectre cowl intake is routed so that the intake hole goes through the firewall on the passenger side underneath the cowl "vent" and above the lower surface of the cowl. In stock form the vent on the driver's side is a true vent and the "vent" on the passenger side is just a solid piece of plastic that is designed to look like the driver's side (no actual openings).
