Special paint for roof? Gravel guard, pick up bed spray, rust proof paint?

You'll start a thread for anything won't you?
Spray it with expand-a-foam. That way if you roll over it won't dent.

I have a peeling paint issue on my 2000 xj on the roof. I believe it was re-painted before I owned it. I have resorted to using a wire wheel to strip off all the peeling areas and clean up around any rust spots that have developed. I then treated it with Rust Bullet. When I am done with all that, I will most likely use Monstaliner or something similar on the roof. From what I read, Monstaliner seems to be the most UV resistant out of all of them. I thought that would be more durable than just regular paint. That way if I need to throw a spare tire, or luggage, or a deer on the roof, it won't tear up my new paint job.

My roof and hood are all covered in Herculiner. If you prep it well, Herculiner holds up great.

Take care of your health.
P.S. I like your Jeep with cut off roof. Looks good.

Yeah the herculiner looks great! My Brother in law did the grill of his JK with the herculiner. Came out great. I am curious to see how it holds up in sunlight.

Herculiner holds up great with the right prep. I had it in the bed of one of my old trucks and it held up almost as nicely as the Linex in my new truck. I herculined the roof and rockers on my 99 XJ (same problem on the roof) and then painted over it with factory color spray paint and it came out great.
