Hey guys its been a few months since I have Been on mainly because i just graduated basic training and now im headed to jump school but i just ordered some 33/12.5/15 bfg km2s and i am wanting to regear without going the jy way and getting new axles so basically what i am wanting to know is what gear ratio do you guys suggest and where to order them from and what all is needed (seals ring and pinion and anything else) and i currently have 3.07 5 speed set up thanks in advance guys!!
I guess I could've reworded that a bit better I was wantin more along the lines of not gettin new axles and orderin all new guts for the pumpkin to go 4.10 what all is needed and where do you suggest ordering from

I think Rough Country has best prices on gears. Comes with everything you need. Contact Grimus on here and he would probably be able to discount you some on top of it. Or you could go to JY and pull 4.10's from a 4 cyl. XJ.

If your Jeep has the 4.0 litre I-6, the ratio you want is 4.56:1. That ratio is available for both of your axles. Rough Country is a good source. 4 Wheel Parts is another good source.

If the OP is going with 33s he will need more power to turn the taller tires, he will also need more power to push the taller rig down the rode. 4.56 works best when going to 33s.
28.3/32.8 x 4.56 = 3.93
28.3/32.8 x 4.10 = 3.54
As you can see the 4.56 will give you a much better effective ratio for a lifted rig with taller tires. The 4.10s will work, just not as well as the 4.56s.

stock on the left 3.07 with 225/75R15 vs 4.56 with 33's note how OD is a full 500 RPM higher than stock.

now here is stock vs 4.10s OD is still a full 300RPM over stock

and just like i said 3.73s put the truck right back at its stock drive ratio

here is your AW4 vs his AX5 notice the RPM difference

you are correct yours is right in the power band the same power band 3.55s and 225/75s put you at.

200-500 rpm is not a big deal. 4.56's are great with 33's. why not get the most out of your gears when droping the $$ to have them changed, plus when the bug bittes harder 4.56's are tolerable with 35's....
