Default Soft 8 Center Caps

I just got some black soft 8's put on my jeep, but I didn't get the center caps. I'm not a huge fan of the rusty centers just sitting there, but I don't really like the caps I can order for them either. I was thinking about getting creative, but wanted to ask the other cherokee enthusiasts for their opinions.

I have access to aluminum and steel stock. I also have milling machinery, lathes, and all the tools i could imagine (I work at a tool crib). What I want is something that just covers the center. it shouldn't stick out very far so i don't destroy it off road.

If anyone has done anything like this with their wheels please share. Pictures would be nice too

Thanks everyone!

Just make lower profile center caps on a lathe maybe?

What I'm about to tell you is in all seriousness.
Guys have used the "I can't believe it's not butter" containers and sprayed them black. Apparently they are the exact size that is needed. And they actually look like real centercaps.

i think iron rock sells center caps for 4.99 each, i think they are plastic so you could sand them a touch and re spray them if you don't like the chrome look

The butter bowl caps look decent, but i don't know if i could show them to anybody with a straight face.

The problem with the ones I can buy is how far they stick out. i'd really like a lower profile. and black, but that can be painted

Why not just touch up and spray your hubs?

I'd rather have a smooth look. the hubs have stuff going on that just looks ugly.

I saw a person that used the original jeep caps on his in the link that rob93 posted. I might do that if mine fit. just paint them black to match

Allied, ultra and a few others make black center caps in plastic and metal. Cheap and easy to replace if damaged. I can get part numbers for ya if you want em...

Could use the jeep caps again. I have seen that done you just drill the 3 holes in the rim and mount them like they do on stockers
