Default Socket wrench-like noise

I have a '96 jeep grand cherokee lerado. Recently it began making a noise. I can tell its coming from the right side of the car. It sounds exactly like a socket wrench, my husband also describes it as a card attached to a bicycle wheel (like we use to do as kids). When i drove it today the noise would only start when I was going over 40mph. If anyone has any suggestions on what the problem might be and if I need to take it in to get fixed asap that would be greatly appreciated!

Many places like Midas, NTB etc. offer 'free' inspections. If you can't get your Jeep up on stands for 'stationary driving' and looking for the problem that way, you might try one of those shops. I assume you already checked for ratchets and playing cards?

This is one of those things where no internet guessing is going to help. Someone needs to physically look at it, jack it up, spin the wheel, etc.
Things to check though.
all driveline u joints, including axleshaft joints
wheel bearings.
radiator fan for contact.
brakes.
all fluid levels.

Thanks for the comments. Its not only when i'm turning it happens while going straight too. I'm not sure if it only happens after it shifts. The first time it happened tho it was constant. We want to sell this car soon so we don't want to spend too much money on it. Do you think these repairs will be expensive?
thanks
