Default snow help

i have about 1000-1500 to play with on my jeep... what should i get for upgrades to make it handle alot better in the snow( wife goes off the road once a winter atleast)

i was thinking of getting a set of bfg a/t ko's and lsd's in the front and the rear.... is there something i should look into other then lsd's?

i figure the tires will cost me 850ish new so that only leaves me 500-600$ to play with after tires.... any suggestions?

A lot of people would say to put in rear, and a lot would say to put in front.

If u want to save money, u could get LSD In rear and e-locker up front.

Tires are just as important too. There's a plenty of opinions in tires, I would suggest to search, to see which brand and pattern that performs the best on snow.

You don't need lockers or LSD to drive in snow with a bit of care. Get some good tires and practice judicious use of the skinny pedal

Get a set of Pro Comp A/Ts and an Aussie locker up front and if you have a D35 rear axle chances are you have lsd in it from the factory. The Pro Comp A/Ts are an amazing tire on/off road and grip really well in all weather conditions. I run them and love them but Im moving up to a 36" TSL just because they are the only ones offered in a 36" tire.

what kind of snow? Heavy midwest snow on the roads? blazing a trail through tahoe where that family died after being stuck in the snow? icy roads after snow plows?

Inexperienced driver with lockers in the snow? Not good.

What kind of snow, as has been asked?

I know nothing about snow other than everyone I hear says BFG A/T's are horrible in the snow... Awesome pavement/dirt road tire. Mud and snow... not so much.

some bfg at's have the snowflake rating (like mine), which is just extra siping, others don't have that rating and suck in the snow. mine are ok at best. the last set of regular *** goodyear wrangler rt/s i had were better. my boss had the non-snowflake at's on his 2500 ram, put on just before this past winter, and he regretted the purchase. his silent armours were better.

I have a set of General Grabber AT 2's on my Jeep and I'd say they're great in the snow. Only got stuck once this last winter with them and that's because I was in extremely deep snow.
