Default License plate bracket & 7 pin flush mount

Here is and idea to relocate the license plate. We used a mini rigid LED to light the plate and lined with bed liner to match the bumper. Also added a 7 pin flush mount and hitch plug to clean up all the wires and give it all a clean look on the road.

Thanks, those pics help. Do you recall if it came with the piece that goes inside the frame rails?

Nice. Thanks for the pics of the brackets. Do you have a pic from the side? what size tire do you have on there? Could you open it up and take some pics? Anything you don't like about it?

Loving the look of the bumper and your rig.

I'd also like to know what size tires you are running. I'd like to get my spare out of the back, but I still want to be able to see out the rear window.

I'm running 17 inch wheels and 32inch tires with a 4.5 inch lift. I will get pictures from the side and it open tomorrow if weather permits. The tire covers up a lot of the rear window but doesn't hinder your ability to drive. I'm actually about to put a sony double din in with a 5 way amp to install new speakers with an 8inch sub in the back with an xj pod. I will most likely install a back up camera as well, with kids running around you can't be too careful. I didn't like that the bumper didn't come with a license plate relocation bracket or the option to get one with it along with not having a 7 pin flush mount on the bumper for towing. You can buy relocation brackets that goes over the wheel but if you have nice wheels you usually want to show them off not cover them up. All in all it is a very well made bumper though. They can't get everything. I've enjoyed having the full set.

Here are pictures from the side, with the carrier open and a view from inside. Hope this is what you are asking for. Lighting wasn't the best this morning going to work.

Even cheaper if you go through Serious Offroad and use the forum discount.

Wow that tire carrier is sick. I have the front xrc bumper and its great. Only downside is the low ground clearance. I have the factory tire carrier but since I'm upgrading to 33's the matching carrier looks like a great replacement.

Thanks buddy, I appreciate you taking the time to do that. I have a 12.5" tire, it looks like it's going to stick out really far, but this thing checks all my boxes for what I want out of a carrier, price is great too. Maybe with the extra weight I can get my rear leafs to flex better haha.

Hey All -

Need some help here! i've just received my XRC bumper and bull bar that I purchased from Serious Offroad, trying to install it and the instructions are not very helpful (for me at least - a complete novice with vehicles). My 2001 Cherokee had a stock bumper and plastic caps that I've removed and now I'm trying to take off the bumper supports that were stock. The supports were bolted to the unibody with a plate that is an L shape and had nuts welded on to one side of the L bracket. Do I need to remove the bolts that hold the other side of the L bracket to the front of my jeep?

Next, when I tried to remove the Torx bolts that are at the back of the plate that held on the factory bumper the T-50 socket I had was too small. What size Torx is that bolt?

Also, the instructions say to support the steering box when I remove the bolts on the driver side, where should I put a support and should I just use a jack stand?

Finally, there is a plate that has 3 holes and a skinny metal rod welded to it, what is that? Looks like I'm suppose to use it on the passenger side but I'm not sure because the pictures on the smittybilt instructions are so awful!

Any help is much appreciated! I'll post pictures of everything on my jeep tomorrow!

Thanks!

DS-MATT

"L" shaped bracket? Need a pic to figure out what it is your describing.

Not sure which Torx head you're removing, but Advance and Craftsman both have Torx-Head sets that cover darn near all of the various sizes. Grab one and keep it handy cuz those darn bolts are every where on your rig.

Regarding the plate with the wire welded to it....
