Default Slip Yoke Eliminator QUESTIONS!?

Good morning everyone,

Yes I'm that guy I did it, I am asking a question that I could probably search for if I was somewhat competent but I did search AND I COULDN'T FIND IT SO LINK IT IF YOU DO GOSH hahahha.

I am going with the JB Conversions slip yoke eliminator and need to figure out which cv yoke to use since I'll be installing a front driveshaft from another XJ that I'll go grab at the junkyard. Also I was thinking about rebuilding both the drive shafts but know literally nothing about driveshafts....

The JB kit already comes with a 1310 CV yoke (redesigned).

As far as rebuilding yours just use YouTube. All kinds of good how-to-do's on there.

Have you checked on the availability from JB? I'm going with an Adams A/A sye kit with their driveshaft but was told by them it was backordered until the end of April. For some reason it seems you can't get a lot products (even nonautomotive) nowadays.

If you're spending the money on a JB kit, just spring for a custom shaft so you can install the SYE and then measure yoke to yoke what you need. A factory front Jeep driveshaft is no guarantee to fit.

I'm trying to cheap out right now because I'll be lifting the vehicle 4 and a half to 5 and a half inches in the next couple of months and I don't want to fork out for a shaft that will be measured for the lift I have now which is 3 inches if not less.

I think the jb come with either 1310 or 1350
youl most likely have to have a shaft built because its a super short sye. In that case a 1350 at transfer case and 1310 on axle side.

Double check i may be thinking of a completely different thing.

I thought 1350 was just a heavy duty version (that most of us will never need) of the 1310.

This is just thinking off the top of my head and not a "for sure" statement.

I wanna go cheap and get a front DS to use also, but I suppose I should do it right from the start and just get a custom DS. I trust the front DS to last if it would fit, but might as well get a new one while I have the extra clams....

The problem is that I think the front driveshaft will be plenty strong enough and a new driveshaft is going to run you like 500 or 600 dollars from what I've seen

Driveshafts arent something you want to cheap out on. Here is the one I went with front and rear. Wont break the bank either.

I agree they are plenty strong but if you have a choice of yoke size and have to build anyways why not make it stronger.
I've had good luck with local drive shaft builders. Its not rocket science

Brand new custom built shafts are like 330.
