Default Slip yoke eliminator

So after not being able to slide into 4L I decided to go with the slip yoke eliminator. (removing the transfer case drop kit), I ended up going with the Pro Comp. I had a choice between Sky Jacker, Rubicon, Tera Flex and Crown. The salesman kept trying to push the Rubicon.

My question to you guys is, have you had any experience with these Pro Comp kits or any of the other ones. Was he just trying to push the Rubicon because he would get paid better? Which one do you guys run?

He told me that highway driving would suck with this setup. I am not quite sure how between manufatures of essentially the same thing driving would change but, thats what he said.

I realize this is TeraFlex but This is what the pro comp has in its kit.

Just installed the one from Harleys. Drop shipped from Advance Adapters, took like a day to get here after purchasing. Install was a breeze and no vibes. I believe all the kits are made my Advance Adapters and just marketed under other brands (with some markup of course). That said, it's a great kit. I highly recommend it.

So I unboxed the kit today when I got home. Im not sure the guys at 4 wheel parts know anything. I opened it up to expect directions or some sign of Pro Comp and low and behold it was a Tera Flex. lmao I had them take the drop kit off and it seems as if my power came back. I wonder if (like motor mounts) if there was any play in the transfer case that caused the power to not be tranfered to the wheels appropriatly.

Anyway on another topic, I spoke to them about recommending 4.56 gears instead of 4.10/ 4.11s and the answer was because I run a manual trans, they said autos they would use 4.11s.

Kind of makes sense being stock with manual was 3.07 usually and auto was 3.55.

You know your shifting issues, has or had NOTHING to do with having or not having a SYE. SYE does not correct transfer case operational problems. It helps to reduce driveline vibes.

I think he means the TC drop affected the shift linkage.

Go talk to Frank (Serious Offroad), he's local to you, and a Cherokee guy!

Um in this case it had EVERYTHING to do with it. Because they installed the drop kit my transmission and transfer case were further away from hump making the throw shorter because it would run into the hump/floor board. His suggestion to fixing this was to cut my hump back to allow more room.

Ok so i have an issue (I think).

I installed the SYE and new drive shaft. The SYE is the Tera-Flex and the Drive Shaft is from a reputable drive line place here (Drive Line Service). I did the install myself and all went very well with the exception of the wife pumping the jack for me.

Ok so the issue is when I go to down shift I get some sort a vibration now. It almost feels like wheel hop and its definatley coming from the rear. It doesnt do it all the time and really only when down to 2nd.

If anyone has had this issue and know what may be the issue please feel free to let me know. Thanks

Did you make sure to properly shim the rear axle?

Yea, when you install a SYE and use a CV driveshaft, the pinion angle of the axle and the angle of the driveshaft should be 1* apart (the driveshaft 1* more than the pinion).

I picked this up:
http://www.harborfreight.com/dial-ga...der-34214.html

And took measurements on both the driveshaft and the pinion and see how much I'm off by. I'm lifted 4.5" and need 4 degree shims. Your experience my vary though. I would make sure to shim the axle and then see if the problem persists.
