Quote: ah I looked more careful this time, its attached but it a strange looking spacer, attaches in the middle kind of, looked torn off until I stuck my fat head further up in that area. So lowering the member means pulling down on the t case?
A tcace drop is just a spacer mounted between the crossmember and framerail

yeah I see, just seems that the mount, black spacer under tc case has flex so kinda wondered how it really pulls the tc case down with the cross member.

Yes, look on the back of the case. There will be a round metal tag. It will tell you.

But, unless your shifter has a full time option then you have a 231

Quote: A friend mentioned that because I got some specific t case being mine is a 98 cherokee that the sye cost way more, around 500. When I look it up it pulls up ones for around 200. Whats up. Might do the SYE and CV shaft.

I kind of scrolled through the thread, so do not know if someone already posted. For the 500$ price tag, seems like that would include an aftermarket driveshaft. If it does, not a bad deal.
YOu can go the Hack n Tap route, DBO has one for around 100$ and is currently offering freeshipping on them.

no it ended up being a 231 t case so Im getting the sye and cv shaft by rugged ridge and rubicon and installed for 800. I dont want to mess with the t case inside since its my daily driver and need it for work, or else it would be fun to learn, but you know, work is first.

XJ is my toy and DD (only vehicle) so anything I do has to be done by sunday night and i was surprised at how easy the tcase it to tear down and work on it (except the snap rings, they are tricky with HF tools). SYE is a couple hr job
