Default Slider build help

I am building sliders out of 2 inch Dom. Any tips would be great. I am not sure if I want it straight or to taper upwards at ends to keep it from stabbing stumps or flare out at back to deflect from rear quarter/wheels.

Did you already buy it or are you set on using that. I built a set using 2x3 and 1.5" hrew, it was difficult to drill and tap the holes straight, and my legs ended up being warped and eh. They are crooked but they work.

To avoid all that, maintain your current clearance and gain the protection you seek, I would reccommend cutting out your existing rockers and weld 2x6 in its place. Much easier to do and the end result I believe is cleaner and much less of a headache.

I already have it. I like the tube set in to rockers but I thing Dom would be a Better start to a full cage.

You'll need something to attach it to though. How much do you have and how thick is it?

I have 2 6 foot sticks(for sliders) and 6 12 inch pieces for slider to unibody mount. I don't know if I'm going to weld pipe straight to unibody or to .25 plate then that to the unibody.

Make a plate first. The thickness of the plate doesn't matter much, obviously you don't want it too thin, but 1/4 inch is pretty damn thick. Try and get it at the same thickness as your dom so its easier to weld. Do your research first, there's hundreds of write ups on these.
