Red face Slave went out, I'd like to upgrade entire clutch?

Slave Cylinder in my 1992 XJ just went out. I can't really find a discussion on upgraded clutch kits.

I'm interested in an upgrade aftermarket clutch kit, that's better than stock. I've found a few clutch kits online, but I'm too inexperienced to determine compatibility, sizing, type, etc.

Would you please maybe link me a clutch kit based on the info I've given, and perhaps a link that explains Jeep cross compatibility? (e.x wranglers, Cherokees, different types of (same year) Cherokee's, etc?

I have my tranny pulled, cleaned, and ready for a new clutch, I just cant pick which one to buy and don't know WHAT to buy!

I'm not sure about clutch upgrades, but while you're in there you could convert your internal slave to an external.

I did this conversion on my '93 XJ last summer. It was difficult but well worth it. I found this article helpful:

http://www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/tr...inder-upgrade/

It doesn't list the part numbers but it gives a good overview of the work involved. You'll need a different bellhousing though.

I appreciate it! Go back to the site you linked and make sure you copy the whole URL so it takes me there. I'm getting 404 not found.

Do you know about how much it would cost to do the external slave kit?

For the clutch upgrade I may walk into my local mechanic and see if he can find me one with his database. Unless I get something good on this thread! )

Do you have the AX-5 or the AX-15? The factory original LUK clutch has been really great to me - I would be inclined to swap another one in if this one bites the dust at any point (though zero clutch slip at 260k miles).

Though Spec makes good clutches as well, I have one in my Mustang but their stage 2+ is really really stiff, never tried one of their standard clutches.

why do you need an upgraded clutch? typically the hydraulics will fail long before any hardware does. luk makes good stuff.

Yes, do that so you can properly bleed the system! Stupid that the AX-15 (and I assume AX-5) don't have those from the factory

Here's what I went with!

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/c...UiKxoC3lvw_wcB

I'm going to get a slave cylinder from my local napa and install!
-Yes I'm aware that this kit comes without bearings. I'll get those at napa too.

Is that for internal slave applications? I'm not doing the external conversion at this time
