Default siping m/t's what do you think

i have a set of adventuro m/t and i want to make them handle better on the road when its wet , icy, and snow. i was considering siping them what do you think, any patterns or hints with doing this myself?

Siping will help with grip, but may make the tire run slightly hotter and wear faster.

I wouldn't recommend siping, it helps a whole lot with traction but i had a set of dean m/t's wear out in less that 10k miles and im convinced its because i had them siped.
