As far as any input I have driven it yet with the H4's so I really can't compare yet.

I'm leaning towards the Silverstar bulbs with harness.

I'm not looking to blind oncoming traffic or be the coolest kid on the block...
Just want to improve these crappy stock lights for night driving.

thanks.

I had stock sealed beams, then SS's, then SS's with Putco harness, now Autopal E housings with Osram bulbs. But like I said haven't had the jeep out of the garage yet to test them.

The SS's with harness was def an improvement over stock.

Did you happen to try the harness with Stock type sealed beam bulbs?

The harness makes a big difference no matter what lights are installed. The factory harness looks like its had an eating disorder for 20 years compares to the harness.

Thanks,
Thats what I thought.

I have installed a similar harness on motorcycles and it made a difference with a stock bulb.

I have ran a harness with the relays on older stuff even with sealed beams i got about 30% more light out of the lights. If you go to good h4 housings you can get even more light.

Do the harness first. Period. Regardless of your final choice.

Clean grounds very very well when doing so. Buy a backup relay or two to keep in your glove box just in case.

The harness upgrade alone made my stock 89 bulbs no lie ~40% brighter.

I got Sylvania Xtravisions with a AZ discount for like $25 for the pair and they're like twice as bright. It's easily more than I'd ever need, and if I wanted more I'd be adding a big lightbar anyway. Don't want to be blinding people with my normal low beams.

I'm shooting for 52% brighter with the harness and stock bulbs...

Thanks guys.

yeah.
I bought the harness first.... will see if that helps.

and yeah from what I'm reading the xtra vision seems a better value than the "often" short lived silverstar.

Xtra visions are a better light as far as brightness and visibility at night in my opinion anyways. I don't know what the obsession white whiter lights is you can't see anything with them. Of course it may also be because I'm colorblind but you know, its the little things.
