I can second that statement. I'm running 35x12.5 r15s on 15x8 wheels with 4 inch back spacing, and most importantly the scrub radius is reasonable so the ball joints and wheel bearings should continue holding up good.

Wheels won't have much to do with how your suspension articulates. They will determine how much tire you can stuff in you fender wells but tire size will play a big part in that as well. When I ran stock axles 8" wheels with 4" of back spacing and 33x12.50x15s mine stuffed pretty well but I had cut fenders and no flares.

these are 15x8 3.75 inch backspaced with 235/75/r15 tires and stock lift
3 inch lift same tires
and lots of stuff on short arms

Lift height and the amount of fender cut will play a part in it as well. I had a little over 5" and cut about 3" of fender. Looked pretty silly till I put 35s on it. I'm only about an inch or so higher now with my 38s but they don't stuff too good with the full widths.
