shortening track bar

shortening track bar
ordered my steering crap today. anyone have much experience shortening track bar? going over the knuckle with serious and whatever track bar relocation braket he sells just trying to mentally prep myself . i can weld not worried about that part just want to hear yalls expeirences with the otk all around. ps should make a sticky on this topic like otk or steering in general. or steering for 6in lift and up somethng like that

Tack bar shouldn't have to be shortened. You might have to move the axle bracket around to clear the new draglink, but it should be the right length.

You have to shorten it a little when raising it. Theres kinda a coil spring in the way. Depends on what trackbar you have. If you have one with a bushing at the axle end, i would get the rubber out of the sleeve, cut it off, notch the tubing to the right length, then reweld the sleeve in the notch.
