I recently had my 2001 XJ NV3550 manual transmission rebuilt and the shifter decided to not perform as usual (no detents/no centering/ has trouble finding neutral). It's like trying to shift with your eyes closed. Anyone know if an aftermarket short throw shifter is available? Everything I've been able to find is for an AX5 (pre-2000). Thank in advance.

You can get one from Core Shifters - I have their reproduction version of the Hurst short shifter for the ax15 and it's awesome - I'm sure the NV3550 version is solid too.

Yup, I've used their stuff before on another vehicle - quality and somewhat pricey. I'm going to give the stock shifter one last shot at wor.king, take it apart again tomorrow. I'll contact Core if I can't get it fixed. Thanks.
