I wanted the mtr but a lot of the reviews stated they burn quick on the road. I then looked at the KM2 but had bad reviews on ice and are very bad in the street when there's only a trace of snow. (no sipping) I decided to go with the D i c k Cepek Mud Country. Better tire overall and only 20$ more a tire to get added traction. I pulled a stock Cherokee that was in deep wet mud and I had no issues. We'll see this winter.

I have BFG KM2s and split a sidewall, not a big deal it happens. What up set me was that I waited for 6 weeks to get a replacement tire, but BFG didn't have any in 35/12.5 r15 and I just found out they were not expecting to get more to their dealers until the end of July.
So now I'm running two KM2s and two Cooper STTs.
I liked the KM2s, and if you sipe the centers they do fine in snow and ice. [ I've had every tire I've ran for the last twenty years siped! ]

Forgot to add my bfg at sidewall 3/4 gash around the tire. Held air for two months like this until a nail went into the tire by the sidewall

i love the KM2's on my 3/4 ton. I tried trail grapplers on the jeep, and like 'em so far, but kinda heavy.

I'm thinkin km2, cuz yea the mtr is pricey and my buddy that runs only those on his crawler said they don't last very long. My two buddys that run the toyos swear by them both say its the only tire they'll buy. Also got a friend tryna sell some almost new mickey thompson mtz any info on those?

I'm mostly wheelin mud for now, but rocks also. I'm looking for good road life yet very good traction on road. And sorry just saw the thing about the mtzs so ill steer clear.

I'm on my second set of Mastercraft Courser MTs. They void easily even with the 2.8L. They do well on the trails I run which are a mix of mud (lots), hill climbs, and rocks. The only downfall I've found is that in sand/pea gravel they want to dig to China. Tread life is actually pretty darn good for a MT. Like most MTs they get louder as time goes on. Mastercraft is a Cooper Tire company and last time I checked, still made in the USA.

I had those also on my YJ and like them a lot. Drove great on the road.
