how do i determine the valving i should select for my shocks?
also i have 4.5" lift on 33 with 3inch of bump stop and i am looking at the bilstein 5150 shocks with 10.02 inch of travel for the rear and 5100 shocks up front with same travel. does that sound like a good setup?

they are the same shock but one has a resivoir. why not run the same shock all around? the only benefit to the resivoir is heat and shock fade. but the 5150 resi is so small i dont feel that it makes a huge difference. anyway. go with the 255/70 valving. imo its the softest that belongs on an xj and perfect for an all around rig

Alright I wasn't sure I've been trying to figure out what my RC shocks measured out to with out taking them off but couldn't find any thing in the Internet. Anyway I have 3inch bumpstop and wanted to get shocks with a longer travel length for more downward flex. Does that make sense? It was kind of confusing me a little.Originally Posted by ktmracer419
10" travel is generally what 4.5" lifts come with. i would still flex it out and measure
