Default shock travel length

so im trying to figure out different components of my build (still) and now im down to shocks. i mainly want a remote reservoir shock and im considering Bilstein 5165s, or Fox shox 2.0 remote with CD adjuster. now the main thing is that im not sure on how long of travel i would need. i plan on running Deaver spring packs in the rear and the rig might sit at about 4-5" of lift. now im fine with cutting holes in the rear to make new shock hoops, im just not sure on what would be about the best length to use.

if you are cutting holes in the floor in back the sky is the limit. the longer the shock, the larger the fluid capacity, and the cooler they will stay. and they dont get much more expensive as they get longer.(if any)

ya, its just my main worry is that i get to long of a shock, mount it too low, and then bottom the shock out all the time
