Some background,

Purchased my XJ about a year ago. Put 31's on stock suspension about 3 weeks ago. I got rear ended about 2 weeks ago now and got a payout of $1700. Both bumpers need to be replaced. I went with Rigidco front and Nates 4x4 rear.

I'm now ready to purchase my lift. I decided on the RE Super-Ride with rear leaf packs. Also getting an adjustable track bar and TC drop.

I'm deciding on shocks now. Here is the lineup of what im trying to decide on.

RE's recommended length:
Front
27.8 extended
17.2 contracted

Rear
24.2 extended
14.9 contracted

My choices:
RE twin tubes - I've been reading they are very rough

RC 2.2 - good reviews, from what i've read. I need to call RC to see if they sell them.

Rocky Road Outfitters - I haven't seen many reviews, but they claim to ride better than stock. I would love to hear some opinions.

I'd like to keep the set of shocks under $200 front and rear. Also, must mount in stock location without modification. It's my daily driver, so comfort is a factor.

Just go to 4wheelparts on trop/Decatur and get procomp shocks. Basic shocks run about 170 for a set and are usually always in stock. I run them daily and have never had a problem with them.

DO NOT waste your money on pro-Crap Shocks!

I'm running this lift currently and the ride is firmer than OEM. For shocks I went with standard Bilstein shocks (no piggy back can and have been happy) Price was the same with what I'm running or the RE option. Not sure what the piggy back would buy in terms of comfort for a DD.

It's called a reservoir.

Reservoirs allow for more oil and that means better cooling.

Better cooling equals less fade, better dampening and longer life.

Defanitly skip the pro comp shocks thay are junk. Get the bilstien's and be done with it.

X2.. I have ProComp now and they are all leaking.. Seals all blown out!

I have a Rubicon 4.5 lift and need to replace my Shocks.. Suggestions?

Bilstein's

Do the Bilstein 5100 I just got done doing the 3.5 supeflex and its nice so far

I looked at your #3 post.. Those say up to a 4" lift? Mine is 4.5.. Still ok?

Yes, you're rear isn't going to flex as much as the front.
