Default Shock measurement

So my driver side lower shock bushing is all blowed out. I need new shocks anyhow. So how do I measure for new shocks ? I have a 3.5 lift I think no sway bars

Sway bars wouldn't make any difference, and if you don't have a front one i would suggest getting one with quick disconnects.

Thinking and knowing. One will cost you extra money replacing shocks repeatedly. The other will get the job done right the first time.

As suggested, grab a tape measure. First, measure from top of axle tube, to bottom of "frame rail". Stock is 6.75" front, 6" rear. Anything more is lift. Now we know. Next is to remove your shocks and flex on something until max articulation is achieved. Measure compressed and extended lengths where shocks are. Do for front and rear. Just don't drive on the street w/o the shocks!! Less ya wanna tip over.. You don't NEED to remove the shocks to do this test, but if you want to, go for it. Just watch brake lines and make sure you don't over flex and bust em!

I would never run without a front sway, just one sideways tap in a wreck and you're ****ed.

That's your choice this is mine. If I ever feel the need to add a sway bar I will

Ok so if 6.75" between axle tube and frame rail is stock then I have 11" that means 4.25" of lift ?
